You know Marcus, I was in primary school when all that happened. I was pretty terrified of that man. One day he was supervising our class and he'd just reduced a girl to a snivelling wreck. She was so scared of him that she couldn't pronounce the title of the story - Jackanapes,. His face was florid with anger. Anyway, immediately afterwards he told us to draw a black line under our work. Black is black - right? I didn't know how to make a grey pencil make a black line, so I drew over it again, and again, and...and I eventually made holes in the paper. Nobody has ever had the right to instil such fear.
