Years ago, a teacher on staff said she didn't bother with teaching grammar: 'because they just don't get it.

I had to bite my tongue. Many of my students did get it and that' because I made it a habitual game of it.

One day I was sharing a Big Book, and to be honest had not checked the punctuation.

Soon so many hands were up, and that was because the direct speech was, CONSISTENTLY wrong!

I was so proud of them. They were in year two!
