Years ago a friend of mine, with four young children, put her house in the hands of an agent. He asked her what she needed in order to buy her new home. She gave him a figure. The house was about to go to auction and just minutes before, he walked up to her and said there was no need for the auction. A buyer had been found and had offered the exact amount she'd stated she needed. Imagine her horror when she discovered that not only was he another real estate agent, but also a mate.
Of course she could have taken it further, but it was her word against his. You wouldn't get away with that these days.
