Yay, Toya! Thanks for highlighting this. I think we women are so much better at advocating for ourselves. I ask question after question. Men, on the other hand, tend to more readily accept of their diagnosis.
Medicine is a bolting horse, these days.
Yesterday I popped in to see my doctor and I asked how she was doing.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"You're on a veritable hamster wheel," I answered.
"Funny you should ask. I said much the same to my husband last night.I'm perpetually exhausted. "
Perpetually exhausted and still a young doctor. I wonder what percentage of them regrets their decision.
This reminded me of a lawyer here on Medium who has already hung her wig out to unfurl. She's decided there's more to life than excruciatingly long and taxing days. Behind the counter of a vet clinic suits her better.
We are always so much wiser after we have spent many years not being wise.
