When we moved house we sold a mountain of books, some very expensive. We just couldn't take them with us. These days we buy from op shops - for $4 two of us can read, we take them back, they are re-sold. Meantime we buy more. It's a great business model for charity but maybe not so good for the writer.
Having said that, we have read and discovered so many authors we might not have considered. Peter May, for instance, a Scottish author, and we have loved his work so far. So, you never know, if I stumble upon one of his books i a store, I would be tempted to buy,
