Just for a moment, try to imagine a war blitz in WW2.
“The word Blitz is short for the German word ‘Blitzkrieg’, which means ‘lightning war’. From September 1940 until May 1941, Germany began air raids in which they bombed parts of Britain at night-time.”
On one of those blitzes, many families lost their homes, including the one below.
The war ended…finally!
People gathered the remnants of their lives, and built new ones.
Time heals.
But scars often remain.
If you’re old enough, you will remember the library fines that were imposed when you took an overdue book back to the library. I remember paying fines.
