Well now Kristoper, I think you have well and truly earned your stripes. I am awarding you Dad of the Year, because I KNOW the average parent would not have done what you did.

As a teacher, I would suggest that few parents even THINK about setting their kids up for success in this technological world.

The thing is this. There are many weirdos looking for innocent children to prey on, and they often find them online.

I once explained to my class about a young girl who met a boy online. They texted back and forth and eventually, to her credit, she asked her parents if she could meet him.

Her mother said she could, on one proviso. Her moters wouldd rive her there and meet the boy.

That got not such a good reception, but that was the deal, deal, or no deal, so the girl agreed.

Imagine the pair's horror when the 'boy, turned out to be a man in his fifties.

In this day and age you just can't be too careful.
