Well Becca, delighted to meet you. Like you, I was not naturally sporty, but I did find badminton in my last years of school. I also discovered I was'nt so bad at it.

Then I came to Australia to live, and met another British girl. We ended up sharing a house together (both teachers), and joining a badminton team. It was so good to play a sport that I felt I could show up well in.

Then I met my husband who was an A-grade squash player, but also good at any sport he tackled. He taught me to play squash which I actually enjoyed, but I never rose up the ranks.

Then he decided he was going to start running to keep fit. I decided to join him. Oh my goodness, I was so dreadful. I still remember the first time I ran a km without stopping. I was ecstatic. I never looked back.

We went to live in New Guinea where I ran my very first marathon. I was so proud of myself.

I think there is a lack of patience if people are not naturally sporty, so, we just never learn, and we don't grow confidence either.

Just realized there's a story here.

Thanks Becca.:)
