We were poor too, Katie, too many children and lived in a small village where everyone was poor, Maybe that's why Halloween was never celebrated. My mother was hard pressed just to keep things ticking at home.

I look back and wonder at how well she did everything, without much money and with little extraneous family help. She was just so amazing.
