We were in serious drought some years ago. we learned so much about conservation, flushing toilets only when necessary, having 2-minute showers, catching water in buckets from showers, and nobody watered gardens. It was not allowed.

Our garden looked sad and neglected, but we didn't lose one plant. When the rain returned they all gradually grew back.

We haven't watered since.

We still do less-then two-minute showers.

We do two clothes washes a week...admittedly no children now, but still, the washing machine, which is super-efficient, is only turned on when full.

I am in the throes of getting rid of lawn and only having wildflowers. Lawns are a monoculture and serve little purpose.

The idea of re-using water is wonderful. Maybe I missed something, so forgive me if it's already been covered. is there some filtering in place before water is reused?
