Sugarcane is a sadistic plant that can grow fronds twenty feet tall with razor sharp edges. Every time I went behind it to tend my roses, I got cut. It’s like getting a paper cut a foot long that you don’t notice until you see blood dripping into the soil just before losing consciousness. I once went a week without being able to bend my arm as a result of a nasty cut.
