Valerie I never buy honey from supermarkets (because it basically not honey). I used to think I hated honey until a friend gave me some straight from her hives. The difference was amazing. I think that's what you are referring to.
I agree. Monk Fruit is pretty good.
Like you, I don't use much of any sweetener because I just don't like really sweet things any more.
Now that Christmas is coming up and I'll be making Christmas cake and shortbread for my family, I will use some sugar (maybe) but like you, just enough.
I read a Scottish recipe where with all the dried fruit, they added a cup of sugar. That has no appeal for me.
I think we're on the same page. :)
