Two things about Kureishi. He's a fabulous teacher, but also a risk-taker. He could so easily have laughed with the others. Instead he stood apart, the laughter I presume, ceased, and you were all challenged to think for yourselves.

They, and you, will never forget the moment

I have to confess I would most likely have been in the circle of laughers. I have clearly much to learn.
