Challenges of writing a twiddle — a poetic form…

To twittle or not, a challenge by Carolyn Hastings to write a poem of four lines (a quatrain) with exactly 100 alphabet letters.

Too easy!

As it turned out, not as easy as I had imagined.

Still, I gave it a try.

Twittle — A rhyming Quatrain

TWITTLE, a verse so easy to write

Very easy? This hasn’t been so.

I’ve reached a mental crisis,

So off now to walk l will go.

Twittle you’ve been deceptive.

I thought this exercise quick!

Two hours passed in a moment.

Now I’m feeling quite sick

Rhyming is never a challenge.

Poems I sure love to write.

But this one proved so much harder

With alphabet numbers tight.

For those still confused, this is Carolyn’s definition of a Twittle.

A twittle is a four-line micropoem consisting of exactly 100 alphabet letters and an element of rhyme.
