Time and tide...does wait, for opportunity!

My husband who is a mathematician, used to wax lyrical on some aspects of math when he was helping our daughter with her homework. Her eyes would glaze over and I could see that all she wanted was an answer...get everything over and done with.

These days she works in a challenging discipline where she naturally uses mathematical skills. Who would have thought?

When I was a teacher I would always start with the hatred aspect of math that children, some of them, adhere to, and it wasn't long before I had convinced them that just to live their lives, they were employing some principles of math.

Hazel check out Eddie Woo, an Australian math teacher who is really 'wooing' students into loving math.
