This sends a chill down my spine.

I don't see any evidence of connectedness where I live. People are nice enough,but the joy of neighbourliness I enjoyed as a child is simply not there.

When my husband got sick recently, I simply had nobody to contact - no one near that is.

We can fix a lot of this at work, if there is appreciation of each other as humans. It should be factored in to a values statement and acted upon.

But as for checking in on your neighbours, how does this work if one lives alone?
