I read just yesterday of a man in the early stages of dementia, was $10k in arrears, but the bank didn't contact family.

By the time his daughter found out the bank had offloaded the case to debt collectors, an action that supposedly couldn't be withdrawn.

We humans are so blinkered, banks even more so.
