This brought back so many memories.

I think my parents worked out the best way to get us to bed was to say the family rosary around the dining room table, chairs turned outwards, elbows leaning on the actuals seats.

One by one we'd start to make faces at each other and to giggle, and then one by one we'd be sent to bed.

Bingo!

Everyone was in bed!

And the May Queen...oh my...we used to go out into the fields and bring bluebells (bluebells of Scotland) arm loads of bluebells that were placed all over the school.

I loved the ritual of the church, but i was petrified of hell, and stories of the old testament.

The comfort of being Catholic was knowing tat everyone else was destined for hell.

Still the fear principle was alive and well and heavy cross to carry as a child.

And then the hypocrisy...
