There's a woman in Sydney, Heather Lee, who is now 96, I believe. She does fast walking comps and beats people much younger than herself.
I was once a marathon runner, but for reasons that don't hold water, I now do fast-paced walking which is good, but not like running. I also do, and this may have appeal for you, hyperbolic stretching.
Last year I struggled with a pinched nerve. The pain would come and go, but then I started stretching. Not only did the pain go (I still stretch daily), but I also slept more soundly.
But back to France. You have much stricter laws in place for food than in other parts of the world. I wrote this post sometime ago. It didn't get much traction. Maybe people don't really care, but I do talk about why chicken i France tastes so much better than most parts of the world.
