Today’s random word is: historian.

With a twist thrown in for your pleasure.

“You’re supposed to be writing about historians.”

“So … what’s a historian then?”

“Somebody who writes down facts about past events.”

“Right then … facts according to his deduction. It’s actually what some poets do, but in a much more entertaining way.

“Take Robert Burns … how can he not be seen as both poet and historian? Read Tam O’Shanter to get a clear idea of history.”

“An idea, but not a truth.”

“Neglected women while men got drunk?”

“Oright … history about some things never changing.”

Historians write

‘Bout times consigned to the past

Each takes their own slant

If you’re not already on board with writing drabbles, (short, 100-word stories, no more, no less,) do yourself a favour. Get stuck in! They are a lot of fun to write, but also serve as a lesson in tight writing, given the 100-word constraint.
