That reminds me of this terrific kids' book, about a boy who was reared by his grandma. I can''t even recall the title, but it doesn't matter.
He has a false tooth in the front of his mouth and it falls into the toilet and he flushes the toilet, hoping it will still be there,
It's not, and the rest f the book is about his tracking it all the way to the sewerage treatment plant.
Despite the odds set against him, he finds the tooth, considers all it's been through, thinks abut his poor grandma who can't afford a replacement, so gives it a good wash, breathes deeply, and pops it back into his mouth.
Courage!!!
