“If you are planning for a year, sow rice. If you are planning for a decade, plant trees. If you are planning for a lifetime, educate people”.

I doubt there is any teacher, who hasn’t looked back over their career and thought, I could have done better.

At the same time, we have to acknowledge that teaching is a damned hard profession.

So much we have to consider when dealing with a whole group of diverse thinkers.

I remember a young teacher photocopying whole books of material, for the whole term, and she hadn’t encountered one student!

She’s so organized, I heard someone say, to which I thought, or she hasn’t a clue, mediocre at best, and might remain so.

It’s a thought I kept to myself, of course.
