Sorry to be exploiting the space here, but I have to tell you a story.

I have a friend who is a mathematician and her husband, a statistician. She has two children, now grown up, one a dentist and the other a gastroenterologist, and she never allowed them to read Dr. Seuss books. She thought they were absolute rubbish. I was horrified! As a teacher I taught many lessons using his books.

So when her first grandson was born I sent him The Lorax, complete with a poem to highlight his grandmother's attitude to the books. She was blown away, her first reading of a Dr. Seuss, and it was all about the environment and greed.

Her daughter, now has a new baby, and I wrote one to him too.

So now Melinda, I have a new post to write, all about judging a book by it's whacky poetry , breaking of style in order to get you out of rhyming issues, and so many social and environmental issues.

Thank you. You have made my day.
