Some years ago my daughter and I took out a gym membership for one year, paying monthly.

At the end of the year the receptionist asked would we like to continue. We said no.

Some six months later my husband asked if we were still going to the gym.

Seems they had continued to take out the monthly membership.

I called them, and they said that we hadn't signed on the dotted line to discontinue.

I ran through the conversation with the receptionist (part of the family, vested interest), but they would not reimburse our money.

Needless to say they have now closed down.
