So Caroline I agree with you. It is harder to stay slender as we age, but this is how my life pans out.

I walk along the restored rail track for 40 minutes daily.

I follow a mostly keto diet, this because my husband was diagnosed diabetic some 20 years ago. In that time I ditched the diet given to us by a dietician (carb loaded, something a diabetic doesn't need!).

Soon after I discovered keto which if you are creative, looks and tastes like an other health diet.

That worked wonders for him. From the time we started it, his sugar readings were always perfect and in 20 years he never progressed to more medication. In fact he never progressed to more than a half tablet. He could probably have given that one up, but I think it was a prop for him.

So I followed the diet too and found within weeks that had NO KNEE PAIN (we were both serious runners!). I do occasionally have more carbs, but won't progress further because i like being pain fee.

This is also healing for arthritis by the way!!

I also life weights, and stretch every day.

I also am in the throes of restoring my garden, and taking care of the lawn mowing (something I want to get rid of!).

I'm busy and active. It works for me.

Do you have a garden by any chance? It helps me in so many ways. I can switch off and think creative thoughts.
