Sheri I just love this. I have been struggling how to write a post about family, and each time I write, I do think, their interpretation would be very different to mine.

There would be excuses, and I would have my own set, of course!

As I read yours I was reminded of a story a friend once told me. She was at the funeral of her best friend's father, who had a very dim view of the dad.

All the eulogies centred on what a great human being he was. The people attending were catching each other's eyes, that is, until the son got up to speak.

His first words were, "Let's get this straight. We all know my dad was a bastard."

And so was released a lot of pent-up emotion.

Still, the point you make is that we have to be careful about our being the story teller, and, I think, we can still spin magic, amazing magic, within the realms of truth.

I LOVED your story of your father's burial day. You are indeed, a storyteller.
