Sepsis. I'm no authority, but I think if your system is compromised, fighting such an infection would be an uphill battle.

A friend's daughter in law had a virus, and eventually was admitted to hospital. She developed sepsis and died. Had she lived she would have been without limbs.

Her brother in Melbourne, in charge of casualty in a large hospital, sent two of his best dcotors to work on her. She couldn't be saved.

She had two little children. One celebrated his third birthday with the lovely nurses. The little one had just turned two. Such a sad outcome.
