All we can really do is stop buying the stuff. Right now Woolworth's is once again offering miniature plastics for your patronage...What the?

Like you I have written on this subject, It's depressing to say the least, but you're right, all we can do is use, and use again, the plastics we have. Of course we then have to turn our attention to the ever so cheap plastic, super-stylish clothes. Eek!
