Sadly Lisa, one of the books at least, of Dr. Suess, was banned in a school after the wood industry became aware of it. They saw is as a threat to their industry. The book had an environmental theme. It was also written many years ago, and practices haven't been changed.

I can only speak from my experience. Where I worked we collaborated on age-appropriate books, and indeed, on appropriate ones.
