Sadly, Laila, 'peer reviewed' doesn't mean ethically reviewed.

Modern medicine is driven by profit, yes even when peer reviewing.

The doctors don't even have time to consult with their patients about their lifestyles and their diets. Well, certainly not where I live!

Let me tell you about my husband. He is/was diabetic, but is now in remission. That is because he follows the ketotenic diet.

Each time he would go to his doctor, who was overweight and not a picture of health, the doctor say things like...well your cholesterol is terrific, but let's get it down further. Your BP is pretty good, but lets keep taking the pills.

Now my husband is very different from me. He'd take the scripts and toss them. I on the other hand would have said, well I have been on this lifestyle dietary regime. I know it's working.

But see, doctors are not paid for wellness outcomes. Those who prescribe lots of medication, get kickbacks.

I wouldn't be a doctor, or a nurse, for all the tea in China. It's such a soul destroying job.

When I was a little girl, my dad had chronic asthma. His doctor would sit with him during the night, and not leave until he felt he'd turned a corner.

Those were the days.

We will never reclaim those days, so now it;s up to us. Its up to us to be as well as we possibly can be.

We can do this by avoiding nasty food, nasty chemicals, and nasty drugs.

I am not saying that all drugs are bad, but many are.

We are a hugely unhealthy group of humans these days.

It's up to us to stand up for ourselves.
