Racism has the power to affect people in ways no white person can understand, turning to alcohol being one of them.

To be honest it's pretty amazing Toya, that you are the kind of person you are today. The physical abuse inflicted on you could so easily have taken every vestige of courage you had, away.

Instead we have a woman who is unafraid to write with courage and conviction, to stand tall about all that is not right. .

I tell people that there are extra circles of hell that Dante never alluded to. They're reserved for all people who detract from our humanity. when I think about it, those circles are bound to be overcrowded.

On Saturday Australia voted for a VOICE in parliament for the aboriginal people.

The result was a resounding no. I don't know when I ever felt so ashamed to be white.

Interestingly the people in the inner suburbs, wealthy people, for the most part said yes, as did the people of Canberra.
