Peter you clearly know little of AIRBNB's history.
In ten years these young lads who couldn't pay their rent, have managed to accrue $60 billion. Now nobody can make that money ethically, in s short or long period of time.
A personal experience, when I didn't know much about the group. We were looking for a 4-week stay in Queensland. We'd looked at this property but there was something not quite right about it.
W kept getting messages form AIRBNB saying if we didn't book, somebody else would.
Then the owner asked when we would be arriving. We hadn't booked.
She said it was booked on her end and we'd have to take it up with management.
When we checked we found that the group had extracted one month's money from our account.. close to $8000.
We spent weeks arguing with management. Fortunately we had kept every email they had sent.
It took a long time, and a lot of painstaking debate for us to get our money back. We were so close to getting legal advice.
I have since spoken to many others about their dealings with the group. They are not nice people.
