Ours was a crazy staff. We were always dreaming up ways to celebrate anything worth celebrating…writing skits for staff who were leaving, crucifying them in ways unimaginable, dreaming up ‘memorable’ baby showers, planning mock weddings, (more fun than the actual ones!), and funerals? Not really. We knew our limitations.

Some years ago, one of our colleagues was getting married so we decided to do a mock wedding. Except the poor unsuspecting couple, the husband-to-be rather shy, knew nothing about it. As far as they were concerned, they were coming to my house for dinner.

The rest of us had been given a ticket determining our role at the dinner…father of the bride, mother of the bride, Father O’Reilly, (script supplied), flower girls, great aunt Gilly…you get the picture. Not only were we required to act like the guests, but look the part too.
