As I worked I found so many items I wanted to linger over, photos of my own children I had mailed to her over the years, cards and letters they had written to their grandma, her high school yearbooks. But I was on a strict timeline. I boxed up the best of it and brought it to her apartment but so much had to go into storage or trash.
