Once I stopped serving food on the floor, I gave myself leave to keep my shoes on.

Seriously? No I don't take my shoes off, and don't demand it of others. Sure we bring in a little grime, but I wash floors regularly. So far nothing life-shattering has happened.

I once visited a friend who had cancer. She asked me to take my bag off her table because people left their bags on toilet floors. I assured her I never did such, but removed the bag anyway. :(
