Oh my goodness, Terry, the serendipitous coincidences you talk about are just amazing. How wonderful for you and yours. I have a huge lump in my throat right now. You were meant to meet up again. What the universe has in store for us we simply cannot sidestep.

My sister was a little older than you, and the father was a long term boyfriend. He went overseas, promising everything.

The baby was adopted out. My sister was heartbroken.

She later married and went to South Africa where she (a nurse) worked with indigenous people. I know she would have been wonderful. She is such a caring person.

Some years ago my other sister sent me a link that was all about the village we grew up in, in Scotland. Turns out the man who setup the blog lived right behind us,and so, we exchanged many memories.

At one stage he asked if I could write about my family, as we were well-known in the village, (not something I was aware of!) which I was happy to do.

A short time later he told me there was someone asking about us, in particular my mother, which also happens to be that of my sister.

In that moment I knew.

I suggested he contact me in the first instance, which he did. He was just lovely. He provided me with so many details, and I knew she was my sister's son.

He is now living in America and has two daughters who have the names of my two sisters.

And so, like you, they have connected, and her three sons have embraced the brother they had never met.

It's amazing, isn't it. I look at him today and I see a taller version of my maternal grandfather.

I'm so glad your daughter managed to have a baby eventually. That is so special all round. Those who never struggle to produce ,have no idea about we who are not so lucky.

My day is blessed for reading your lovely story. :)
