Nancy though I'm Scottish born, my dad was Irish. From memory he was just a little boy when the family settled in Scotland.

So nice to know I am in touch with another Scot. :)

My mother's family all had Irish names too. As I understand it, way back in time, in the midst of the potato famine when many people fled, many settled in Scotland which was close enough to Ireland and gave them the option of returning when things turned better.

Something has changed in tags for me too. I'm not getting the number of stories I used to, and yet this should all happen automatically.
