My car has a few tattoos Karen, almost all done by others.

One side has surface scratches, big ones, but surface, that were caused by a truck loaded with straw bales. It was the bales that left the scratches, but the driver drove on. He would have known.

The next one happened when we'd ducked into a shop for a few minutes. The driver, according to witnesses, got out, checked her car, and drove off.

But the first one was in a car park in Sydney where we actually caught the driver checking our brand-new car. He quickly left the car park. I wrote him a note with my telephone number, but did not hear back.

Some months ago, when having coffee with a friend a man backed into a parked car and drove off, but not before we got his number which we handed to the driver of the parked car. He was very grateful.

To be honest I can't for the life of me, understand people who know they have caused damage, but seem not to care.
