Lucia, you hit the nail on the head...an engineer, scientist, mathematician...often these people have not developed their emotional intelligence.

It's only in recent years that schools have started, through Howard Gardener's Multiple Intelligences, to develop all intelligences, and not the narrow, considered, few.

I used to use Gardener's Six Thinking Hats, (school initiative actually) and it was easy to see which students struggled with emotional intelligence in particular.
