Like those socks! I keep the lonely one of the two, but very rarely find the other.

I have a pair of expensive leather gloves. I lost one of them at the shops, or so I thought, retraced my steps, called into the supermarket where I'd been. No glove.

Months later when I was tidying a cupboard I found it under a pile of towels.
