It's really nice to go back and read them, Susan You start to understand the deeper meaning behind them.

I worked at one of our local universities some years back. Some students stated they could never teach writing because they personally couldn't write.

I made the statement that with one book you could use it for all stages in primary school. I chose The Big Block of Chocolate.

It was like pulling teeth initially, but with a lot of group work, questioning, supposing, denying, probing they came up with amazing writing. They also felt that maybe they could teach writing.
