It's how our system works here in Australia too. Bib brother is watching, and doctors are mandated to ensure people have breast checks every whatever r many years (I don't know, because I don't do them!).

I self-check of course, and I do everything in my power to stay healthy regarding diet and lifestyle.

Same with bowel checks. annual checks...it's really hard to dodge them.
