Is Now The Optimal Time For Being The Best Parent?
You can’t go back and change everything, but you can positively impact their future.
This is a deliberately provocative post. I crafted it for parents who are in demanding work positions, that they might feel trapped in.
It’s for parents who have quietly cried on a day when their child is, for the very first time, reading at assembly…and they couldn’t be there, because of a pressing meeting!
It’s for any parent who spends too much time away from their children because of work pressures.
It’s for any of you, who, on a Saturday morning have sat on the sideline, catching up on business, on your smartphone, and missed what the cheering was all about.
And then, shock horror, found that it was for your child.
It’s for YOU, and ME, for we’ve all been there.
And it’s for anyone who is caught in the web of work life that demands so much, pays well, so is hard to give up.
It hurts, but we comfort ourselves in the thought that we are doing it all for our children.
But can it possibly be true when we’re not there to parent them?
