Interestingly Fran, until a few years ago, I had never actually heard of sepsis...antiseptic etc, but not sepsis as such.

My friend's DIL, her brother the top casualty doctor in a Melbourne hospital, sent two of his best doctors to care for her. She died. Had she lived it would have been sans limbs.

And a student who used to boast about living on junk food (during my health chats) went into hospital for day surgery, and many weeks later returned home. It was a close shave.
