Interesting that the queen died (chose to die) at Balmoral Castle. Aberdeen is the wealthiest town in Scotland. Scotland, for the most part, remains poor by comparison.
For the life of me, I have no idea, queen or not, why anyone would see fit for such a huge home, to be the preferred option for a holiday., one where you can assume your Scottish heritage with kilts and tweeds.
I grew up in Scotland, and as a young girl, questioned why it was that a queen must be so wealthy. It didn't sit well with me then. Nor does it do so now.
In her dying the queen passes on wealth, billions, to people, her children, I have little regard for. Two of her children have behaved in such odious ways, yet they will continue to enjoy wealth that most of us can never contemplate. One is now king.
To be king or queen suggests a protectionist behavior over subjects.
Protecting, helping, caring, sheltering, securing, safeguarding...when did we ever see that happening?
Have a look at this.
Why does Prince Charles own the Duchy of Cornwall? Simple answer, it was given to him and now brings in eye-watering wealth.
The Duchy of Cornwall's origins are entrenched in providing funds to the heir to the throne as a means of independence. The estate continues to report high streams of revenue, much of which have come under controversy under the helm of then-Prince Charles.
Oh my! As a means of independence, my parents, with very little personal wealth, provided me with an education.
