Imagine having a highway all to yourself. Sounds like the stuff of dreams, yet we had one (or three) all te way from Queensland to Canberra at the beginning of Covid lockdown. That's 19 hr 29 min (1,789.6 km) drive, two or three days' drive.

It was magical. Not a soul was on the road, nor were we stopped by police. Not that we were worried. We'd been given two days to get home.

What was bliss was not having to contend with hoods.
