I'm sure there were many better teachers than I was, Lisa, and my being a 'favorite', whilst it's a lovely validation, is not necessarily correct.

That I made them feel safe and valued, well I hope so, and I jumped on anyone who took that away from students.

Fun was the element that I always tried to factor in, because if you don't have that, you just don't have much else.

Teaching's a hard gig. You can't and never do, please all players. what many overlook is that you never leave your students behind. They are always in your thoughts. If you think there's a domestic/parenting/abuse problem, you are always thinking about it.

If you have a child who is struggling with reading and writing, you are always reading to find ways, or talking to somebody who might have answers.

It's not the 9 to 4 job, with all those holidays, that is perceived by so many.

The good-hearted fun though, is great.
