I'm British too, Alistair (but long time Australian citizen) and I absolutely agree with you on British sausages.

Come over to Australia, to the Barossa Valley where they make the finest of sausages. Mind you, there are lots of people of German descent living there, so t makes sense.

The sausages are not cheap, but they are meaty and unique.
