I'm a poor flyer Susan and that's because I was once on a plane that flew into unforeseen turbulence. It was in the days before seatbelt rules.

I won't go into the details, but I was sure death was not far away.

When the plane was righted, the pilot said, 'Sorry about that folks,' as many injured people lay on the floor.

Some people were annoyed at him, but the truth is he was doing his utmost to keep the plane flying through the turbulence.

We don't think about car safety so much as we believe we are in charge, until you meet someone who's not in charge, and then we are at their mercy.

I think flying is still safer than cars.
