I worked as an English teacher for Mission Australia, so essentially teaching adult migrants, very new ones at that.

One day I used The Very Hungry Caterpillar as an intro to plurals and other things.

They LOVED it so I used it several times and eventually they were confidently joining in. It was such fun.

But it got back to the powers that be in the department and I was told to follow the program, which really meant using their shitty choices.

I didn't stay there for long...
